Fly RC magazine and ZAP glue were the lead sponsors at Top Gun 2009, the largest scale invitational in the world. The 1,000 foot long pit area was packed with tents occupied by many of the most accomplished modelers in the world as well as all the leading RC brands, and the models themselves were incredible. Of the 101 registered pilots competing at Top Gun, 84 campaigned military aircraft—12 from WWI, 34 from WWII and 38 from post WWII spanning the Korean war era to modern jets. Every leading form of modeling technology was represented, from electronics and radio gear to turbine and even electric jets pushing 200mph speeds.

The exciting Florida Jets 2009, held by FTE earlier this year with lead cosponsors Fly RC and Zap, is the first high def RC video offered to the modeling public.
