DJI, one of the biggest players in the fields of multirotor aircraft and aerial imaging, has just announced their Inspire 1. This new aerial vehicle has many outstanding features. Chief among them is a new 4K capable camera. The Inspire 1 camera can shoot up to 4K video and capture 12 megapixel photos. A nine element, nine group lens includes an aspherical element that is capable of producing media with amazing clarity.
A new designed comprehensive mobile app allows a pilot to control manual camera controls, flight telemetry and auto takeoff and landing with just a tap of the screen. Optional dual operator controls allow one pilot to fly the Inspire while another pilot “flies” the camera.
Tradtional GPS positioning is now augmented with a visual positioning system, enhancing indoor flying. New Optical Flow technology provides accurate positioning capabilities even when a GPS signal is unavailable. Sensors determine the Inspire 1’s location and altitude and lower the legs automatically when landing.
The Inspire 1 camera can transmit a real-time feed to mobile electronics in stunning 720p HD, with newly improved DJI Lightbridge technology increasing video feed range to 2km.
