The West Coasts premiere jet event will be held this year at the Elk-Hills Buttonwillow Airport near Bakersfield, California. This AMA sanctioned jet event is being hosted by the Bakersfield Airplane Radio Control Society (BARKS), the oldest existing radio-controlled model airplane club in the Bakersfield, California area. Pilots will enjoy the spectacular 3,260×50 foot paved runway and wide open space that comes with no flying restrictions. A total of 34 awards will be presented, including the prestigious Colonel Robert Thacker award. This notable turbine event also features an on-site pilots dinner, banquet and auction. Contest Directors Joe Castaleo and Nancy Henderson promise that pilots and spectators alike will enjoy almost a full week of non-stop turbine and electric jet action!
